Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating wheelchair vans to transport people efficiently and securely. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries, proper handling of different wheelchair types, and adherence to safety regulations. Duties
- Safely operate vans with passengers
- Load and unload wheelchairs using appropriate equipment and handling
- Drive route-specific areas across designated areas while maintaining punctuality and professionalism.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and passenger details in compliance with transportation regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding appointments schedules or any unforeseen issues during transit.
Requirements
- must be available 6am-5pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays As needed
- Valid drivers license
- Proficiency in operating wheelchair vans
- Ability to load & unload members in wheelchairs
- Knowledge of route driving best practices and familiarity with local and regional road networks.
- Know how to use GPS
