School Bus Monitor

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Ensure students are transported in a safe to and from school and other destinations as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must sign a release form for criminal record check Must complete and pass a physical examination

Education/Certification

• High school diploma or GED required

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

1. Assist students during transport and during loading and unloading
2. Properly secure students and/or equipment
3. Inform students of bus safety requirements
4. Monitor student behavior for the purpose of diffusing situations and/or preventing distraction to the driver or injury to students
5. Assist in the evacuation of students from the bus during emergencies
6. Attend all safety meetings as required
7. Promote positive public relations
8. Word cooperatively with all students, system personnel, and parents
9. Perform other duties as requested
