We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as trucks, trailers and engines.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs.
- Inspect and service industrial equipment including HVAC systems, shocks & struts, alignment systems, and tire services to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, and hydraulic system checks.
- Utilize electrical experience to troubleshoot wiring issues and perform electrical repairs on heavy machinery.
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed, parts used, and service schedules to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance. At least 4 years.
- Dealership experience or equivalent background preferred; familiarity with Caterpillar, Cummins and Freightliner.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and air brakes.
- Skilled in reading schematics and using diagnostic software for automotive diagnostics.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and heavy lifting procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients.
