Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes and fluid checks to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Repair and service heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, cranes, forklifts, screeners, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers.
- Use computerized diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently troubleshoot electrical systems, HVAC units, and other mechanical components.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks for structural repairs or modifications on heavy machinery.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience working with heavy-duty machinery is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for precise troubleshooting and repairs.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and diagnostic devices.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, cranes, and other industrial machinery.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques involving cutting, welding, assembly of parts or structures.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients about repairs or maintenance needs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high standards of safety compliance at all times.
