We are seeking a safety-sensitive, first-line supervisory professional to join our team as a Road Supervisor. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students and supporting the daily activities of bus operators.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure student safety and intervene to maintain order on buses or at stops
- Respond to accidents, incidents, and driver requests for assistance
- Investigate and document accidents, complaints, and safety concerns
- Monitor bus operators for adherence to routes, schedules, and policies
- Perform related work as required or as delegated by supervisor.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of school transportation safety and New York State regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with drivers/monitors, dispatchers, parents, and schools
- Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure and in emergency situations
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Proficiency with radios, GPS, routing software, and basic computer programs (Word, Excel)
- Ability to maintain detailed records and write clear incident and activity reports
- Commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State Security Guard License (Required)
- Valid CDL or willingness to obtain one
- At least 2 years of Military or law enforcement experience
- Minimum 2 years of school bus driving or related transportation experience
- Clean driving record and ability to pass all required background checks, drug/alcohol screenings, and DOT medical requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, split shifts, and in all weather conditions
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
