What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice – Director of Business Development position at Transitions Hospice - Michigan?
Description
Lead the Growth That Makes the Mission Possible
At Transitions Hospice, we don't just manage care — we protect dignity, comfort, and the moments that matter most. We've reimagined hospice to be something different: compassionate, unhurried, and built around the whole person. That means building the right relationships, in the right communities, so that every patient who needs us can find us — and every referral partner can trust us to show up.
If you're a business development leader who wants your work to mean something beyond a quota, this is your role.
What You'll Do
As Director of Business Development, you'll be the growth engine for your assigned territory — building referral relationships, coaching field teams, and making sure every patient who needs us can find us. Your day-to-day includes:
- Developing and executing a territory business development plan aligned with census and admissions goals
- Building and deepening ethical referral relationships with hospitals, SNFs, assisted living communities, physicians, and community partners
- Providing hands-on coaching to Regional Care Coordinators through ride-alongs, feedback, and skills development
- Partnering with Branch Administrators to jointly set expectations, track activity, and align daily execution with branch priorities
- Setting CRM standards and using data to monitor pipeline performance, conversion rates, and account activity
- Collaborating with clinical and operations leaders to ensure a seamless referral-to-admission experience
- Delivering community presentations and educational in-services that build our brand and referral volume
- Providing market intelligence on competitor activity, referral trends, and payer dynamics to executive leadership
- Leading recruiting and onboarding of business development staff in partnership with HR
Benefits We Offer
- Competitive pay
- Medical / Dental / Vision Insurance plans
- Long & Short-Term Disability
- 401(k) with company match
