Job Description
- Program and operate a CNC Fiber Laser (BODOR LASER)
- Create CNC programs for all new products
- Update CNC programs for all Engineering Changes
- Perform material handling functions, including loading material for job runs.
- Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance
Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of a CNC Fiber laser cutting machine.
- This position is also responsible for maintenance, housekeeping, and material staging related to fiber laser operation.
- Call-up programs, modify programs as needed including nesting of parts to maximize material usage
- Select designated raw materials and load/unload parts
- Update CNC programs for all Engineering Changes
- Ability to layout and develop flat patterns for simple and complex parts
- Improve CNC material utilization
- Make machine/program adjustments as needed
- Daily cleaning and preventative maintenance of the CNC Fiber Laser.
- Load raw material sheets and unload finished products, must be able to drive a forklift.
- Keep a steady flow of material running through the laser.
- Ensure machine is operating at peak efficiency.
- Select the correct nozzle and gas for the material being cut.
- Keep production output records
- Ability to handle physical workload up to 50 lbs.
- Perform machine alignment and optic cleaning to keep equipment operating smoothly.
- Perform part inspections.
- Track quantity and quality of work
- Work safely and always wears personal protection equipment
Qualifications and Experience Levels
- Two or more years of experience operating CO2 or Fiber CNC laser-cutting machines.
- Understanding of flat print drawings is desired
- Forklift experience
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret project documentation
- Basic math skills
- Thorough understanding of the CNC process
- Willing to learn new skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Blueprint reading
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
