Mechanic Tech A - Paratransit

Transdev in Las Vegas, Nevada is seeking an experienced A-Level Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining engines across various vehicles and equipment. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

$38.75 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay scale) PLUS $0.15 for each ASE

Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on engines.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs

• Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.

• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.

• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• ASE certifications required; Must have 5 current ASE certifications in medium/heavy truck repair.

• (2) years of relevant experience preferred; experienced light vehicle technicians with automotive or van backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

• Mechanic’s Tool Set

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.

• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces

• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
