Position Summary
Transco Supply is seeking an experienced, customer-focused Inside Sales Specialist to join our growing team. This role serves as a primary point of contact for customers and is responsible for managing quotations, RFQs, bids, order processing, customer support, and sales growth initiatives.
Experience with industrial distribution, Safety, MRO, Janitorial, Contractor Supply products, RFQ management, bid administration, contract sales, and Profit21 (P21) ERP software is strongly preferred. Candidates with experience working for industrial distributors are highly encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate understands the importance of building long-term customer relationships, providing exceptional service, identifying sales opportunities, and collaborating with suppliers, warehouse personnel, and outside sales representatives to drive growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Identify customer needs and recommend products and solutions that create value.
- Prepare and manage quotations, bids, proposals, and RFQ submissions.
- Follow up on quotations and opportunities to maximize sales conversion.
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Work closely with Outside Sales Representatives to support account growth and customer retention.
- Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and supplier partners to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
- Coordinate with supplier representatives and customer purchasing contacts to support business growth.
- Monitor contract opportunities and assist with bid management activities.
- Resolve customer concerns, disputes, and order issues professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate customer records, pricing information, and sales activity within company systems.
- Continuously develop product knowledge and stay informed on supplier offerings and industry trends.
- Represent Transco Supply professionally in all customer interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Inside Sales, Customer Service, Account Management, or Industrial Distribution experience.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industrial distribution experience.
- Safety, MRO, Janitorial, Contractor Supply, or Industrial Product experience.
- Experience managing RFQs, bids, contracts, and customer quotations.
- Knowledge of Profit21 (P21) ERP software.
- Experience working with manufacturers and supplier relationships.
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
