Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide high-quality mental health care to patients across the lifespan. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and collaborative teamwork with other healthcare professionals.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, mental status examinations, and diagnostic assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on DSM-5 criteria and clinical best practices.
- Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychiatric medications.
- Provide psychotherapy or supportive counseling within scope of practice.
- Offer crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation (EHR).
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medication usage, and health promotion.
- Participate in clinical meetings, peer reviews, and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and culturally competent care.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health (PMHNP).
- Current and unrestricted state nursing license and PMHNP certification (ANCC).
- DEA registration (or eligibility).
- Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric clinical experience preferred (new grads welcome depending on the role).
- Strong understanding of psychopharmacology, evidence-based practices, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Proficiency with telemedicine platforms and electronic health records.
- Experience providing virtual care to diverse populations (adolescents, adults, geriatrics).
- Familiarity with remote risk management and crisis protocols.
- Multi-state licensure or willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
- Ability to adapt treatment approaches to a virtual environment.
