Trans Equipment LLC/Good Transport Services is a leading provider of transportation, services, and parts for the commercial trucking industry. We provide specialized (bulk) and van services to our customers, as well as offer a full-service repair shop, parts department, and trailer sales.
The Trailer Technician position is a full-time role and will work on-site in Ephrata, PA, Monday-Friday (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), with the opportunity for overtime.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Trailer Technician, under direct supervision of the Service Manager and Shop Foreman, is responsible for performing repair and maintenance work on trailers, truck bodies, and other equipment. Essential functions of the role include:
- Diagnose, rebuild, and repair trailers and vehicles (including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs, and ability to weld, cut, sand, and grind). This may include, but is not limited to, repairing or replacing brakes, suspensions, floors, doors, roofs, hydraulics, and electrical wiring.
- Install or repair liftgates, tarps, and 5th wheel plates
- Perform routine service, inspections (federal and state), and preventative maintenance of vehicles and trailers
- Complete custom fabrication as needed
- Prepare and maintain records and reports
- Effectively operate machinery, including, but not limited to: forklift, overhead crane, various pneumatic tools, welders, plasma cutter
- Follow proper safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment for self and team members
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years minimum relevant experience
- Ability to perform general equipment maintenance and repairs
- Ability to perform repairs independently
- Welding, electrical, and hydraulic experience
- Valid Driver’s License
In addition to the aforementioned qualifications, the following are also preferred:
- Post-secondary certificate or formal technician training
- Valid Class A CDL and PA Class 7 Inspection License, or a willingness to obtain these during the course of employment
- Paint and body work experience
- Ability to troubleshoot and read schematics and other technical documents
- Computer skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
Work Environment
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
- Exposure to high noise levels
- Ability to work at 15’ heights and climb ladders
- Ability to lift or move items up to 50 pounds; ability to operate assistive equipment to move or lift items over 50 pounds
- Frequently required to speak, hear, stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel
- Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, depth perception

Base Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
