Position Summary:
The Parts Inspector is responsible for inspecting plastic injection molded parts to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves hands-on inspection, identification of defects, accurate documentation, and close communication with production to maintain consistent product quality.
Shift:
Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm but hours could vary.
Essential Job Duties:
- Inspect plastic injection molded parts for visual, dimensional, and cosmetic defects
- Check parts during startup, in-process, and final inspection
- Use basic inspection tools such as calipers, gauges, go/no-go gauges, and visual aids
- Compare parts to approved samples, prints, and work instructions
- Identify, tag, and segregate nonconforming or suspect parts
- Document inspection results accurately on inspection logs or quality forms
- Communicate quality issues promptly to operators and supervisors
- Follow quality procedures, safety rules, and housekeeping standards
- Support containment activities and rework as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area
- May be required by management to perform other work-related tasks
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous manufacturing or inspection experience preferred (plastic injection molding a plus)
- Ability to read basic prints or visual work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift up to 35–50 lbs, as required
