The Senior Accountant in conjunction with the CFO is responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring the organization’s financial health and sustainability. This role will oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and compliance requirements. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization’s mission and goals.Key Responsibilities:Financial ManagementDevelop and implement financial strategies that support the organization’s mission and goalsManage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisEnsure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and other financial systemsPrepare timely monthly financial reports for the CFO and senior leaders to ensure a shared understanding of the organization’s financial position and to support program management. Provide analysis and recommendations as neededEnsure compliance with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, financial statements, audits, and other reporting requirements; meeting all prescribed deadlinesManage relationships with external partners, including banks, auditors, and other financial service providersBudgeting and ForecastingDevelop and maintain the annual budgeting process in conjunction with the CFO, working closely with program managers and other stakeholders to develop realistic and achievable budgetsCoordinate with CFO in the preparation of all grant, contract and project budgets as well as required budget modificationsMonitor actual performance against budget and provide regular updates and analysis to the CFODevelop and maintain financial forecasting models that support financial planning and decision-makingQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldAt least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit organizationExperience working with management to develop program budgets and assist with proposal developmentProven track record of successful financial management, including experience developing and implementing financial strategies, managing budgets, and overseeing financial reporting and complianceExperience with Fund E-Z accounting software preferredExperience with payroll processing and software with Harpers Payroll a plusProficiency with Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skillsStrong leadership and management skills, with experience building and leading high-performing teamsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholdersPassion for the mission and work of the organizationPassionate interest in mentoring others and working as a teamJob Type: Full-timeBenefits: Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance
