What are the responsibilities and job description for the Birthday Party Host - Weekends position at Trails Park and Recreation District?
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Guest Services Supervisor, the Birthday Party Host is directly responsible for the overall supervision of all birthday parties from set-up to clean-up while providing exceptional customer service.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables related to parties as well as interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and employees of the District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for supervising birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Provide excellent customer service for each party.
- Assure proper set up of each party.
- Confirm staff members are here for the specific parties, i.e. lifeguard, climbing staff, gymnastics staff, etc.
- Collect final payment from each party.
- Communicate to Supervisor any issues or concerns that arise within birthday parties.
- Promote positive customer relations with all Trails Recreation Center patrons.
- Work directly or indirectly with all TPRD employees in a positive and constructive manner to solve facility and program concerns through increase communication and effective listening.
- Inspect and maintain cleanliness, safety, and general appearance of the facility, including but not limited to, the Conestoga & Gold Rush Rooms, Pottery rooms, and party equipment and supplies storage areas.
- Participate in all mandatory meetings and trainings.
- Establishes and maintains a working environment conducive to positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity, and teamwork.
- Must maintain a positive and friendly attitude while engaged in stressful and/or controversial situations with patrons and co-workers.
- Complies with District rules and regulations and policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Guest Services Supervisor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to talk and/or hear language from patrons, managers, or groups of people.
- Ability to see objects closely and at a distance.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, reach, climb and stoop or kneel.
- Ability to lift 50lbs assisted.
- Instruction performed in a standard studio space. Unexpected interruptions occur frequently and the stress level is moderate. Water and humid conditions exist.
