Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists with leading and instructing a variety of activities such as swimming, games and sports
- Inspects program facility and equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment for patrons
- Communicates with citizens and responds to their inquiries and concerns
- Ensures safety practices. Administers First Aid and performs CPR if necessary
- Greets and interacts with parents and guests
- Shops for and purchases supplies, refreshments and equipment for birthday parties
- Sets up birthday party room prior to parties. Ensures directional signs are posted so guests can find the room
- Cleans room after birthday party
Minimum Qualifications:
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Experience in customer service preferred
Licenses and/or Certifications Required: CPR and First Aid Certifications are required (which can be obtained at the Recreation Center) or ability to attain within 30 days of hire. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skill in administering First Aid and CPR
- Ability to physically access stores and to shop for supplies and refreshments
- Skill in caring for children and responding to their needs
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions in accordance with established Town policies and procedures
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and coworkers
Physical Demands:
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing
- Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate personal computer and office equipment
- Vision for reading, recording and interpreting information
- Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens
Work Environment:
- Works primarily in a clean, comfortable environment
Equipment Used:
- This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment.
