We are moving beyond traditional trial-and-error methods by implementing Quality by Design principles and utilizing DoE combined with Multivariate Data Analysis.
The Role
We are seeking a Director of Bioinformatics & AI Engineering (iPSC Platform) to join our team and help define the future of product development and cellular engineering. As a Director of Bioinformatics & AI Engineering (iPSC Platform), you will lead a team consisting of Computational Biology, AI Engineering, and Database Engineering. You should have a deep understanding of Design of Experiment, as well as a strong grasp of machine learning & artificial intelligence tools and technology trends.
Responsibilities
- HD-DoE platform: overall ownership of the HD-DoE platform, including experimental design and modelling, as well as maintenance of SOPs, training, and equipment to maintain a steady workflow of HD-DoE experiments
- Molecular Biology: oversee analysis of all bulk and single cell RNA-sequencing, whole genome sequencing, and ATAC-seq
- Leadership: manage a team of Analysts, Data Scientists & Engineers to meet short- and long-term goals related to integrating AI into the HD-DoE platform
- Experimental validation of models: partner closely with dedicated Scientist to generate training data and validate AI-generated predictions at the bench
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with R&D Scientists and Product Managers to ensure the HD-DoE platform meets the company's needs for product development and marketing
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks to ensure system reproducibility and facilitate team knowledge sharing
Qualifications & Requirements
- MSc or PhD (preferred) degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related quantitative field
- 5 years of professional experience in analyzing large biological datasets
- 2 years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare sectors
- Leadership experience including direct supervision of technical staff
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for cross-functional teams, including biologists and lab scientists
- Collaborative spirit with a desire to work in a fast-paced, research-driven environment
Pay: $155,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
