JEWELRY STORE MANAGER

Traditions Fine Jewelers

Position: Jewelry Store Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Owner / Upper Management

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Jewelry Store Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our fine jewelry store.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for jewelry, exceptional customer service skills, and a proven ability to drive sales while building lasting customer relationships.

This individual must be hands-on, detail-oriented, accountable, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, customer satisfaction, and store profitability.

Our goal is simple: Deliver an exceptional customer experience, grow our business, and create customers for life.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth

  • Take ownership of achieving and exceeding monthly and annual sales goals.
  • Lead by example through active participation in sales and customer interactions.
  • Develop strategies to increase store traffic, average transaction value, and overall profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to grow diamond, bridal, fine jewelry, and custom jewelry sales.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement improvements when goals are not being met.
  • Encourage add-on sales, upgrades, and additional purchases.
  • Develop relationships with existing customers while attracting new business.

2. Customer Service & Relationship Management

  • Ensure every customer receives a welcoming, professional, and memorable shopping experience.
  • Build long-term customer relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
  • Personally assist with important sales, special orders, engagement rings, and high-value purchases.
  • Professionally resolve customer concerns and complaints.
  • Maintain consistent communication with customers regarding repairs, special orders, and purchases.
  • Promote customer follow-up, thank-you communications, and relationship-building activities.
  • Maintain the reputation and integrity of the store.

3. Employee Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, motivate, and hold employees accountable for performance.
  • Establish clear expectations for customer service, sales production, and professionalism.
  • Train employees on product knowledge, selling techniques, and store procedures.
  • Conduct regular employee performance evaluations and coaching.
  • Create employee schedules that provide proper coverage while controlling payroll expenses.
  • Foster a positive, productive, team-oriented working environment.
  • Address performance issues promptly and professionally.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.

4. Store Operations & Accountability

  • Oversee all daily store operations to ensure efficiency, organization, and professionalism.
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed properly.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, merchandising standards, and jewelry presentation.
  • Oversee repair intake, tracking, customer communication, and timely completion.
  • Ensure special orders are properly documented, monitored, and delivered.
  • Maintain accurate records for sales, returns, exchanges, and customer transactions.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Identify operational problems and take initiative to resolve them.

5. Inventory Management & Security

  • Maintain strict accountability for valuable jewelry inventory.
  • Oversee receiving, tagging, pricing, transferring, and documenting merchandise.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory performance and recommend replenishment or adjustments.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and security of merchandise.
  • Maintain compliance with store security procedures and loss-prevention policies.
  • Communicate merchandise needs, customer requests, and emerging trends to ownership.

6. Marketing & Business Development

  • Support store promotions, advertising campaigns, and special events.
  • Help develop ideas that attract new customers and increase store traffic.
  • Encourage staff participation in promotional activities.
  • Identify opportunities for community involvement and relationship building.
  • Work with ownership to improve the store’s competitive position in the marketplace.

Qualifications & Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of retail management experience, preferably in fine jewelry or luxury retail.
  • Proven history of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of diamonds, gemstones, precious metals, and jewelry products.
  • Experience managing inventory and high-value merchandise.
  • Ability to coach employees and manage performance.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service abilities.
  • Comfortable using point-of-sale systems and basic business reporting.

Jewelry industry experience is strongly preferred; however, exceptional retail leaders with relevant luxury sales experience will be considered.

Personal Characteristics

We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • Leadership: Leads by example rather than simply directing others.
  • Accountability: Takes ownership of store performance and results.
  • Initiative: Identifies opportunities and solves problems without constant supervision.
  • Integrity: Handles customers, employees, and valuable merchandise honestly and responsibly.
  • Sales Focus: Understands that customer satisfaction and business profitability go hand in hand.
  • Professionalism: Represents the company positively at all times.
  • Teamwork: Creates a culture where employees work together toward shared goals.
  • Attention to Detail: Understands the importance of accuracy in the fine jewelry business.

Performance Expectations

The Store Manager’s success will be measured by:

  • Meeting and exceeding established sales goals.
  • Increasing store profitability and average transaction value.
  • Developing and maintaining a productive sales team.
  • Improving customer satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory and minimizing merchandise losses.
  • Ensuring timely completion of repairs and special orders.
  • Controlling operating expenses and payroll.
  • Maintaining an organized, professional, and secure store environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary based on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus or incentive opportunities.
  • Employee merchandise discounts.
  • Additional benefits based on company policy.

Our Expectations

This is not simply a position to oversee employees and open and close a store.

We are looking for a leader who treats the business as if it were their own.

Someone who takes pride in growing sales, developing employees, building customer relationships, solving problems, and creating an exceptional shopping experience.

The right candidate will understand that success comes from strong leadership, attention to detail, personal accountability, and a commitment to excellence.

Our Store Manager must be a leader, a salesperson, a problem solver, and an ambassador for our business.
