Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Draftsman to join our dynamic engineering team. Duties
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER.
- Create comprehensive schematics and system design layouts for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to industry standards including ASME codes and standards for safety, quality, and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret design specifications and translate them into accurate technical drafts.
- Incorporate GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles into drawings to specify manufacturing tolerances precisely.
- Utilize advanced tools like NavisWorks and Bluebeam for model review, clash detection, and markup management during project development.
- Assist in technical writing tasks related to drafting procedures, assembly instructions, and design documentation.
- Support construction teams by providing detailed system design drawings that facilitate installation and assembly processes.
- Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulations when necessary to validate mechanical integrity of designs.
- Maintain organized CAD libraries and ensure version control for all project files.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Draftsman or similar role within an engineering or construction environment.
- Extensive proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, schematics development, and system design processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels, piping, and mechanical components.
- Experience working on complex projects involving assembly drawings, technical schematics, and construction documentation.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into detailed drawings with precision.
- Knowledge of FEA tools for structural analysis is a plus.
- Excellent technical writing skills for creating clear documentation and drafting procedures.
- Prior exposure to 2D animation or visualization tools is advantageous for presenting design concepts effectively.
