What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Success Manager position at Trades OBD?
Remote | Full-Time | TradesOBD
TradesOBD is an outsourced business development partner for contractors and trades.
Most subcontractors never reach their full potential — not because they can’t deliver great work, but because they don’t have the time to chase leads, build GC relationships, work bid lists, and manage sales activity consistently. We step in as their full-time BD arm, helping them stay visible, win more bids, and secure predictable commercial work without the cost of hiring in-house.
We’re in an early stage of growth — building long-term systems, expanding our reach across the U.S., and developing new solutions for subcontractors who want to scale. The work we do is hands-on, relationship-driven, and built around execution more than talk. We’re growing, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
We are hiring a Business Development Account Manager to lead client relationships, manage ongoing outreach, and ensure measurable progress for each contractor we serve. You will run weekly client meetings, oversee communication with GCs, PMs, estimators & developers, surface opportunities, track bids, and help each account consistently move forward.
This is both a strategic and executional role — part relationship manager, part operator, part builder. You will work directly with owners, estimators, and leadership teams, becoming their trusted BD partner and growth engine.
The right person understands construction, communicates clearly, enjoys organizing moving pieces, and can balance multiple accounts without losing quality or momentum.
Client Leadership & Ownership
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients
- Run weekly and bi-weekly strategy calls, set priorities, and maintain clarity
- Understand each client’s scope, capacity, ideal projects, and commercial targets
- Provide performance visibility through weekly updates and reporting summaries
Execution & Business Development
- Build target lists of GCs, builders, developers & decision-makers
- Manage daily/weekly outreach, follow-ups, and relationship-building activity
- Track bid invites, due dates, submittals & awarded projects
- Maintain CRM hygiene — notes, tasks, opportunity stages & next steps
Partnership & Agency Growth
- Collaborate internally as we build frameworks, service enhancements, and SOPs
- Share insight from client activity to improve processes, messaging, and delivery
- Help shape offerings as we scale into new trades, regions, and commercial markets
- 2 years in the construction industry (subcontracting, GC, supplier, field or office)
- 1 year in business development or a growth-based role
- Comfortable interacting with owners, estimators, PMs, supers & developers
- Strong communication, follow-through, and detail-tracking habits
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and keep priorities organized
- Experience in sales, marketing, agency operations, or account management
- Knowledge of bid platforms, outreach tools, CRM systems, or partner networks
- Someone who enjoys process, structure, and building what doesn’t exist yet
- Fully-remote work
- Clear role ownership and growth track
- Paid training & onboarding — we teach our system as we grow it
- Opportunity to shape service delivery, tools, and client process as we scale
- A startup environment where your ideas aren’t just heard — they change the company
We’re scrappy, early, and building something real — not another agency template.
If you want a seat at the table instead of a task list, this is the place.
Submit your LinkedIn resume and a short note about why you’d be a strong fit.
Even better — tell us one thing most subcontractors overlook in BD.
