Grounds Keeper Supervisor - Weekend

Traders Village Houston is seeking a Weekend Grounds Cleanup Supervisor to lead and support our Grounds team. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of the market while overseeing a team of 12–15 employees during weekend operations.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The ideal candidate leads by example, actively participates in grounds cleanup, and ensures the team stays organized, efficient, and on task throughout the day.

• Pay Rate: $14.50 – $15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
• Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday (year-round)
• Hours: 8:00 AM until close (typically between 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM)
• Location: 7979 N. Eldridge Pkwy, Houston, TX 77041

• Reports To: Operations Manager

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience is required

• Supervise and coordinate a team of 12–15 Grounds employees
• Assign daily work areas and manage employee break schedules
• Monitor assigned sections to ensure cleanliness is maintained throughout the market
• Communicate regularly with the Operations Manager and other departments via radio
• Lead by example by actively assisting with grounds cleanup duties

Grounds & Operations Duties:

• Collect trash and cardboard from vendor areas, walkways, food stands, and RV park
• Ensure trash bins are emptied and waste is transported to dumpsters or compactors
• Keep dumpster areas, including those behind indoor restaurants, clean and serviced
• Sweep debris, clean spills, and squeegee standing water when needed
• Assist with maintaining overall cleanliness and safety of the property
• Support tractor operators and other team members as needed

Additional Responsibilities:

• Operate golf carts safely throughout the property
• Assist customers and vendors when needed
• Help raise, lower, and store flags daily, including monitoring for half-mast requirements
• Ensure team productivity, accountability, and positive morale
• Identify issues proactively (overflowing bins, hazards, cleanup needs) and address them promptly

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, janitorial, warehouse, or similar work preferred
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required
• Strong communication and team coordination skills
• Ability to work independently while managing a team
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
• Ability to bend, stoop, push, and pull
• Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds
• Ability to safely operate golf carts and other equipment

• Team stays on task and completes assigned areas efficiently
• Market remains clean, safe, and presentable throughout the day
• Strong communication with Operations and other departments
• Positive team morale and accountability
