Trade Partnership Worldwide, LLC is a Washington, DC–based economic research firm specializing in U.S. trade policy and data-driven analysis. Our work supports leading business organizations, trade associations, and policy institutions, providing rigorous insights on tariffs, supply chains, and the real-world impacts of trade policy on American businesses. We maintain several proprietary databases that are not available from other sources, including data on exports and export-supported jobs by state and congressional district and imports and tariff costs by state. We also support the We Pay the Tariffs coalition, a grassroots coalition of over 1,100 small businesses working to raise awareness about the impacts of the 2025/2026 tariff proposals, and the Coalition for GSP, a group of U.S. companies and associations that support renewal of the GSP trade program.
About the Role
The Trade Policy & Data Analyst is a full-time position located in Washington, DC, with at least several days a week in office. We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically rigorous candidate to own and expand our data-driven analysis of U.S. trade policy and support a growing national, non-partisan advocacy effort focused on tariff impacts.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of economic research, public policy, and grassroots advocacy. The Analyst will have direct exposure policymakers, high-impact clients, and others driving trade policy conversations and shaping U.S. policy decisions.
This is a high-ownership role on a small team. The Analyst will manage core analytical workstreams, maintain critical data infrastructure, and translate complex trade data into clear, actionable insights for clients and policymakers. The Analyst will be able to take ownership of meaningful, visible work from day one. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable working independently, eager to learn, and able to bring structure to complex projects.
The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000–$70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus benefits and bonus potential.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Data Analysis & Infrastructure
- Own and maintain large-scale trade datasets (U.S. imports/exports, tariffs, NAICS/HTS concordances) using BigQuery, Python, and Excel
- Manage recurring monthly production workflows and ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of outputs
- Respond to client and TPW partner requests for data in a timely manner
- Build and improve internal data systems and pipelines to support scalable analysis
- Conduct in-depth analysis of tariff impacts by state, industry, country, and product
Research, Insights & Client Deliverables
- Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling insights and narratives
- Produce client-ready deliverables including reports, dashboards, policy papers, and state-level one-pagers
- Support custom analysis requests for leading organizations across business, policy, and advocacy spaces
- Identify and communicate key trends in trade policy and global supply chains
Advocacy & Coalition Work
- Support and help manage the We Pay the Tariffs coalition of small businesses impacted by tariffs and the Coalition for GSP
- Analyze survey data and synthesize real-world business impacts
- Contribute to blog posts, reports, and outreach materials that elevate small business voices impacted by trade policy changes
- Support advocacy efforts including events, stakeholder engagement, and campaign materials
- Translate data into messaging that resonates with policymakers, media, and the public
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, international relations, data science, or related field
- 1–3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent demonstrated ownership of complex analytical or data-driven projects
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Experience with Python (pandas), SQL, or similar data tools preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into accessible insights
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
