Diesel Truck Technician

Tracey Road Equipment, Inc. is seeking to hire full-time Diesel Truck Technician for our Binghamton Branch.

A successful candidate will:

• Perform vehicle diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on heavy duty trucks and equipment according to company standards.
• Perform visual inspection of components in question and assess the situation in order to compile a repair path to complete the necessary repairs.
• Ensure warranty claims are properly documented and submitted in a timely manner.
• Test drive vehicle operation following repair to ensure all maintenance and repair work is performed accurately and efficiently to prevent injury and further damage.
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems, such as power and drive trans, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, and hydraulics.
• Efficiently communicates vehicle status to Service staff for customer awareness.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by cleaning bay after all repairs are complete, and properly disposing of waste materials.

Skills:

• Ability to use appropriate power and hand-held tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, replace and test equipment
• Working knowledge of electrical systems
• Ability to work independently with minimum direction
• Ability to read and comprehend diagnostic service information
• Ability to gather date, compile information, and prepare routine paperwork
• Ability to understand directions and follow standard operating procedures
• Valid drivers' license
• Commercial Driver's License Preferred
• Vocation or Technical Training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
