Qualifications:

To qualify for the Maintenance Mechanic, WG-4749-9, applicants must meet the following screen-out job element to be considered for this position:

- Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT ELEMENT)
- Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.
- Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
- Use of measuring instruments
- Ability to interpret instructions, specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)
- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
- Knowledge of materials

Responsibilities:

You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic, WG-4749-9 and be responsible for preventative, emergency, and routine service work as a Maintenance Mechanic in refrigeration, heating ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing trades throughout the grounds.

• Logging expenditures of time and materials; and scheduling, accomplishing, and recording completion of work tasks.
• Following established preventative maintenance schedules and manufactures maintenance instructions.
• Repairing and maintaining large air conditioning systems that performs a variety of functions including heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, cleaning, filtering, and circulating.
• Installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing utility supply and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil and gas distribution systems and water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, and showers.
• Maintaining, repairing, and installing as necessary water distribution systems and components.
