Job Summary:
The ABA Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, quality of care, and supervision of ABA therapy services provided to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities. This leadership role ensures that all clinical programs are evidence-based, client-centered, and compliant with applicable regulations and ethical standards. The Clinical Director will manage and support a team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and other clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Oversight
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized ABA treatment plans and behavior intervention plans.- Ensure clinical services align with current best practices and ethical standards set by the BACB and state regulations.
- Conduct clinical audits and monitor data collection to ensure treatment fidelity and client progress.
- Oversee initial assessments, ongoing progress evaluations, and discharge planning.
- Provide guidance for complex or high-risk cases.
Supervision & Staff Management
Supervise BCBAs and other clinical staff, including conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback and mentorship.- Ensure supervision requirements for RBTs and BCBA/BCaBA candidates are met in compliance with BACB standards.
- Provide ongoing professional development, training, and support to clinical staff.
Program Development & Quality Assurance
Develop and enhance ABA programs, protocols, and training materials.- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical services and adjust programs accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with insurance requirements, including documentation, progress reporting, and authorizations.
Client & Family Support
Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure generalization of skills and consistency across settings.- Conduct parent training and support sessions as needed.
- Address concerns and provide clinical support to ensure high client and family satisfaction.
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all clinical and supervisory activities.- Participate in organizational meetings, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., HR, billing, intake) to ensure smooth operational processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical ABA experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Extensive experience developing and implementing ABA treatment plans
- Strong knowledge of ABA principles, data analysis, and ethical standards
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred:
Licensed Behavior Analyst (if required in state of practice)- Experience managing multiple locations or large clinical teams
- Bilingual skills are a plus
