Job description:
- Fully functioning support role having greater responsibility to perform all (or most) most of the standard work within the function; moderate impact to the department

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing leadership and the development to employees in the Construction Department and Fiber Optic Department.
- Responsible for plant integrity by overseeing plant damage repair, aerial construction, construction upgrade, underground drops (new/rebuild) and the negotiation development of contracts. In addition, this position oversees the splicing and activation work involving the fiber optic network.
- Ensures the quality and safety of all employees while providing excellent customer satisfaction to all customers.
- Activates new fiber optic circuits and implements corrective and preventive action on the fiber transport system, nodes and reverse laser transmitters and receivers.
- Oversees the construction and /or repair of fiber, coax, and copper plant for HRC and STS networks.
- Communicates and coordinates the construction, operations and maintenance of service facilities in the public right-of-way, private right-of-way and buildings.
- Performs routine work to locate and mark underground cable lines in order to minimize Cable cuts and costly repairs.
- Ensures that work performed in a timely and professional manner and meets all regulations, specifications and standards set forth by the company and government agencies.
- Reviews projects for exiting easements by researching documents and maps.
- Constructs new and rebuild aerial hardware including strand placement, tensioning, grounding, bonding, guy and anchor installation.
- Assures grounds are at or below maximum allowable resistance for proper network protection.
- Responsible for maintaining proper spacing form energized conductors as well as height requirements as prescribed in the NESC, NEC, utility and Cox construction specifications.
Required Experience:
HS diploma, GED or relevant work experience; Specialized skill training/certification may be required; 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility required
