Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced EPC Project Manager III to join our team in Jackson, MI. This is a full-time Contract position, with a hybrid work schedule requiring onsite presence three days a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday). This role will require managing multiple high-value projects within the electric distribution sector.
The EPC Project Manager III will oversee projects involving high-voltage distribution (not transmission) systems, including work on pole-top assemblies, pole replacements, line builds, and related electrical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in a collaborative, data-driven environment and has a strong understanding of project management from conception to field execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage a portfolio of 145 projects/work orders simultaneously, ranging from $30M to $60M in value.
- Project Lifecycle: Manage projects from initial conception and design, through procurement, and into field execution. Ensure timely and successful delivery of all phases.
- Field Integration: Gather and analyze data from the field, providing clear and actionable reports to stakeholders and management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including engineers, construction managers, supply chain specialists, and environmental professionals.
- Scope & Budget Management: Review project scope, budget, and schedules, and maintain proactive communication with stakeholders to address any challenges.
- Project Controls: Oversee aspects of project controls, including scope review, cost management, and schedule tracking.
- New Project Development: Some projects may involve innovative solutions such as drones, fencing, transformer replacements, etc.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with significant exposure to large-scale electrical or utility projects.
Skills:
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting, using tools like MS Excel and Power BI.
- Unifier and ProjectWise experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
Background:
- Electrical/utility background is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience with high-voltage distribution or similar projects is a plus.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree is not required for this position, though relevant professional certifications or experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EPC Project Experience: Familiarity with electric distribution systems (HVD and substation work) will be advantageous.
- Industry Tools: Experience with project management software such as MS Excel, Power BI, Unifier, and ProjectWise will be highly beneficial.
