Construction Project Coordinator III
Duration: 12 months (with a possibility of extension)
Location: Jackson preferred; open to reporting to other service centers including Flint, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, or Traverse City/Cadillac
Position Summary:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for helping move construction projects from planning and design through release and execution. This role will coordinate with internal design teams, construction resources, and contract management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, understands construction processes, and can effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track project milestones and progress throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate prerequisites and required tasks to transition projects from design to construction execution.
- Partner with internal design teams and construction resources to ensure project packages are complete and ready for release.
- Monitor planned projects to ensure timely release to construction teams.
- Assist in identifying appropriate construction resources based on workload and capacity.
- Proactively identify and remove barriers that may impact project delivery.
- Support management of project scope, schedule, and budget performance.
- Help ensure projects meet defined deliverables for cost, timeline, and quality.
- Provide status updates and communicate risks or delays to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, construction, utilities, or related field.
- Strong technical aptitude with ability to quickly learn systems and processes.
- Understanding of construction operations and project management principles.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and with field personnel.
