Position: Electrical Engineer IV
Duration: 12 months contract
Location: Jackson, MI (Hybrid) (PER DIEM NON LOCAL)
Department: Engineering – Generation Assets (Renewables: Solar, Wind, Battery Storage)
Position Overview:
- The Electrical Engineer IV will provide advanced engineering support across a portfolio of renewable generation projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage assets. This role is critical in supporting the successful development, design, and execution of multiple capital projects, ensuring technical quality, compliance, and operational readiness. The ideal candidate will bring strong power generation or utility-related experience and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the engineering, design, and execution of 3–4 renewable generation projects simultaneously.
- Provide technical expertise for electrical systems within solar, wind, and battery storage projects.
- Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and other engineering disciplines to ensure fully integrated project solutions.
- Review and approve project documentation, electrical drawings, engineering studies, and technical specifications.
- Support development activities including feasibility assessments, engineering input for cost estimates, and design reviews.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility regulations.
- Provide engineering support throughout project lifecycle—from early development through construction and commissioning.
- Interface with internal stakeholders, external consultants, EPC contractors, and equipment vendors.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, providing recommendations based on engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- 4–6 years of relevant experience, including: Power generation plant engineering, or Substation engineering, or Utility-scale electrical engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems, protection schemes, and renewable energy technologies.
- Ability to manage engineering scope across multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder-coordination skills.
