Job Summary:
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, including accounting, budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting, and process improvement. This position plays a key leadership role in building and optimizing systems and procedures to support the company’s continued growth and automation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and job costing.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Develop, implement, and improve financial policies, internal controls, and procedures.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
- Lead efforts to streamline and automate financial processes to improve efficiency.
- Work closely with project managers and company leadership to track project costs and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax requirements.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff (if applicable).
- Serve as the internal expert for accounting software and financial tools.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controller, preferably in the construction industry.
- Industry experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with Viewpoint by Vista software is a strong plus.
- Proven experience creating and improving financial processes and internal controls.
- High level of computer proficiency (Excel, accounting systems, ERP tools, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or equivalent designation preferred but not required.
