What are the responsibilities and job description for the PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR position at TP Mechanical Contractors LLC?
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Gathering and processes payroll time in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure appropriate entries are being made by the parties that are entering the timesheets into the systems and follow-ups on missing hours and discrepancies.
- Processing weekly employee wages, bonuses, commissions based on our company’s policies and procedures.
- Handles and troubleshoots all payroll and payroll exception questions from field and office personnel. While monitoring employees’ hour compliance.
- Transmits weekly withholding taxes in an accurate and timely manner. Along with preparing quarterly reconciliations of all payroll taxes.
- Sets up and verifies deductions such as child support, clothing purchases and tools along with direct deposit information.
- Runs, sorts and distributes certified payroll reports as needed.
- Balances and transmits weekly 401k remittance.
- Maintains the prevailing wage database and handles all prevailing wage audits and questions. May assist in other audits as needed.
- Managing third-party systems used in the payroll processes.
- Ability to multitask and work under the pressure of deadlines.
- Assists other accounting associates as needed and requested.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience/Qualifications Required:
- 3 years of prior payroll experience minimum.
- Knowledge of Federal, state and local taxes as well as state reporting requirements.
Job Skills:
- Knowledge of Windows based software (Excel, Word) and any e-mail system.
- Excellent math ability.
- Proficient with 10 key calculator.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Dependable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle a large volume of work in an accurate and timely manner.
Education:
- Minimum of High School Diploma.
- Bookkeeping and/or payroll courses are helpful.
Special Requirements:
- OSHA 10
