What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Work Experience Program position at TOYOTETSU NORTH AMERICA?
TTMA is seeking students to join our workforce through a part-time Work Experience Program to support
production operations in the automotive manufacturing industry. Students selected for the program may be
assigned to Stamping, Conveyance, or Welding.
The Work Experience Program allows students to work after school, during school holidays, and/or throughout
summer break. The program is designed to support academic responsibilities while offering consistent work
opportunities.
Stamping: Sets up and participates in the operation of a power press that automatically feeds blanks and
continuous rolls of sheet metal into position. Sets specified dies in the press using hand tools.
Conveyance: Performs any combination of tasks to receive, store, and distribute materials and products to
Production Workers in Welding and Stamping lines. Reads production schedules and batch orders to determine
items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Convey materials and items from receiving, production areas, and
storage using hands, an electric fork truck, tugger, or propane fork truck. Sorts and places materials or items on
racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence with attention to kanban.
Welding: Tends spot and arc welding equipment that joins fasteners and metal components together. Manually
positions workpieces against stops or on pins to align in the machine. Places parts in and removes completed parts
from the machine that automatically welds. Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions and reports issues
to the supervisor. Inspects joined components for defects and test fits in jig per work protocol. May also use
manually manipulated automatic welders to complete some processes. Move part(s) from the machine and place
them in process stages or onto a rack/tote.
Job Type: Part-Time
- All students participating in the Work Experience Program will be employees of Innovative Staffing Solutions.
Work Schedule Guidelines: 5 days per week 4 hours per day

Eligibility: Only individuals that meet the following criteria are eligible for the Work Experience Program
- Are currently enrolled in high school, college or university
- Are 18 years of age or older.
