Who we’re looking for
The Toyota TFS Enterprise Platforms team is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Lead Java Developer to drive innovation and lead technology initiatives that power our growing Enterprise platforms. In this pivotal leadership role, you will shape and execute technology strategies that align with Toyota’s business goals, delivering impactful solutions that transform how we operate. Reporting to the Technology Domain Owners, you will collaborate across teams to build scalable, cloud-native systems that make a real difference.
What you’ll be doing
Imagine leading a talented team of developers to build cutting-edge, cloud-native applications that support Toyota’s enterprise-wide digital transformation. Success in this role means delivering high-quality, scalable solutions while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Develop and execute transformational technology roadmaps that align with business objectives.
Lead and mentor a diverse team of software engineers, inspiring growth and excellence.
Own delivery excellence by ensuring high standards for code quality, testing, and smooth transitions from development to production within our cloud ecosystem.
Manage and enforce enterprise architecture standards to maintain robust, scalable systems.
Drive collaboration with cross-functional partners including Enterprise Architecture, Data, and Business Domain Owners to shape strategy and deliver impactful solutions.
Provide clear, regular updates to senior leadership on project status, performance, and incident management.
Stay ahead of industry trends and integrate new tools and methodologies to continuously improve our technology stack.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Proven software development experience with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, NodeJS, REST APIs, real-time streaming, and microservices architecture.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring and managing software engineering teams.
Deep knowledge of modern software engineering frameworks and cloud-native business technology solutions, including 12-factor app design.
Track record of delivering scalable cloud-native solutions addressing logging, testing, security, and instrumentation using Java, Python, SQL, and AWS services.
Added bonus if you have
Proficiency in Python scripting.
Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Experience working with event-driven and microservice architectures.
