Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian/Maintenance Worker to join our team and ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning, custodial, and maintenance tasks across our facilities. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Conduct janitorial tasks such as trash removal, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Carry out floor care activities including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors to ensure they remain safe and visually appealing.
- Maintain facilities by performing routine repairs such as fixing fixtures, replacing light bulbs, and other tasks.
- Operate cleaning machinery safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support overall maintenance efforts by inspecting the premises regularly and reporting any hazards or repairs needed.
Requirements/Preferred experience (willing to train)
- Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work with knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors.
- Strong understanding of facilities maintenance practices and safety procedures.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward cleanliness and upkeep.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and climbing ladders when necessary.
