Job Summary
TownePlace Suites Kalamazoo is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking Housekeeping Attendant to join our team. The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for cleaning guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure a comfortable, safe, and welcoming experience for every guest. This role is essential to maintaining the hotel’s cleanliness standards and overall guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel and brand standards
- Make beds, change linens, replace towels, and restock guest room supplies
- Clean bathrooms, mirrors, floors, furniture, and fixtures
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and remove trash from guest rooms and assigned areas
- Report maintenance issues, damages, lost items, or safety concerns to management
- Ensure housekeeping carts, storage areas, and cleaning supplies are organized and stocked
- Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Assist with laundry duties as needed, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and stocking linens
- Maintain cleanliness of hallways, lobby areas, elevators, and other public spaces when assigned
- Provide friendly and professional service when interacting with guests
- Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and security procedures
- Complete assigned rooms and tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping, hotel, or cleaning experience preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean spaces
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift
- Must be able to lift up to 25–50 pounds as needed
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Skills
- Hotel housekeeping experience
- Knowledge of cleaning products and safety procedures
- Time management skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to maintain professionalism around guests and team members
Work Environment
This position is based in a hotel environment and requires physical activity throughout the shift, including cleaning rooms, moving linens, using cleaning equipment, and interacting with guests and staff. The Housekeeping Attendant may work mornings, weekends, holidays, and during busy hotel periods.
