Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), electrical equipment, plumbing, and facilities infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and testing tools such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct HVAC system repairs, including filter replacements, ductwork adjustments, and system calibrations to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for carpentry, painting, welding, and general maintenance tasks to uphold building interior standards.
- Maintain plumbing systems through repair of leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing fixtures as needed.
- Read schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions swiftly.
- Lead small maintenance projects with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency while coordinating with other team members or contractors when necessary.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies while providing excellent customer service to internal clients.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance work performed using work orders or MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) systems for tracking purposes.
- Assist with painting projects—both residential-style painting and maintenance painting—to enhance the appearance of facilities.
- Support the installation or repair of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in building automation systems for enhanced operational control.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related roles with a strong background in electrical work, HVAC repair, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and general mechanical knowledge.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment repair including troubleshooting using schematics and testing devices like ohmmeters.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC systems—installation, troubleshooting, repair—and familiarity with HVAC schematics.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively for various maintenance tasks including painting and carpentry projects.
- Knowledge of plumbing system maintenance—repairing leaks, unclogging drains—and plumbing fixtures replacement.
- Strong understanding of MRO practices for maintaining facilities equipment efficiently.
- Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately for electrical troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate tasks effectively within a team environment.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks independently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or building automation systems is a plus but not required.
