Summer Program Staff Seasonal Position (2026)
We are seeking energetic, responsible, and caring individuals to join our Summer Program team! This is a fun and rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on children while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Program Dates: June 15, 2026 August 21, 2026
Commitment: Minimum of 8 weeks required
Schedule: 2940 hours per week (based on program needs)
Program Length: 10-week, theme-based summer program
Position Overview
Summer Program Staff are responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. Staff will implement age-appropriate activities, supervise daily routines, and support childrens social, emotional, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and lead age-appropriate activities for children
- Supervise daily routines including playtime, mealtimes, nap/rest time, swimming, water play, and field trips
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and active engagement of all children
- Build positive relationships and meaningful connections with children
- Follow established lesson plans and contribute to a fun, theme-based program
- Maintain accurate records, including daily notes and photos of childrens activities
- Monitor and track childrens allergies, illnesses, and overall wellness
- Ensure full compliance with State of Connecticut Child Day Care Regulations
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a supportive environment
- Adapt quickly and remain flexible in a fast-paced setting
Age Groups Served
- 23 years old, 34 years old, 56 years old and 79 years old
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children required
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a group of up to 10 children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and positive environment
- Successful completion of the towns pre-employment background check and drug screen (includes screening for marijuana)
Compensation:
$17 hourly
