EMERGENCY DISPATCHER - FULL TIME (2) EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Receives
incoming calls in a regional dispatcher center for the towns of
Belchertown, Hampden and Wilbraham, including E911, dispatches police,
fire, ambulance, animal control and public works emergency responders;
operates LEAP/NCIC computer, keeps logs, provides pre-arrival
instructions to callers including Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD). MIN.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be certified in E-911 and LEAPS, and pre-arrival
instructions, and be or become trained and certified in PowerPhone 911
call handling protocols within 90 days from date of hire; emergency
dispatch experience preferred; courtesy and tact in dealing with others,
Ability To Multitask And Excellent Oral Communication Skills Essential.
LOCATION: CENTRAL DISPATCH - POLICE STATION, 2780 Boston Road HOURS:
four on, two off, rotating eight hour shift schedule; additional shifts
as posted and available; some overtime required; COMPENSATION: Grade 3
Step A \$25.30/hr to Step E \$32.43/hr DOQ, (shift differential 4% for
4pm-12pm, 5% for midnight to 8am shift), union position, full benefits;
