The Town of Stowe is seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Assistant Town Clerk/Treasurer to join its municipal team, working alongside the Town Clerk/Treasurer and an existing Assistant Town Clerk/Treasurer. This public-facing position serves as a first point of contact for residents, visitors, Town staff, and outside agencies while providing administrative support to the Town Clerk’s Office.
The Assistant Town Clerk/Treasurer provides customer service and supports a variety of municipal services, including elections and voter registration, vital records, licenses, land records, passports, cemetery services, fee collection, and general office administration. The position also serves as Acting Town Clerk/Treasurer/Collector of Delinquent Taxes when needed.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Provides excellent, courteous customer service.
- Communicates clearly and professionally.
- Is highly organized, accurate, and detail-oriented.
- Exercises sound judgment and maintains confidentiality.
- Can manage competing priorities and adapt to changing needs.
- Has strong computer skills and basic bookkeeping experience.
Qualifications: Associate degree, three years of office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hours are 8am to 4:30pm with occasional evening and after-hours work required to support elections and other statutory responsibilities.

This is an in-person position. Pay range: $25.41 - $30.37, depending on qualifications.
