Arena Attendant/Groundskeeper
Looking for a rewarding, year-round position that offers variety, teamwork, and the opportunity to work both outdoors and indoors? The Town of Stowe is seeking a full-time Arena Attendant/Groundskeeper to split responsibilities between the Arena and Parks divisions. This unique position serves as a rink attendant at Stowe Arena during the winter months and as a groundskeeper with the Parks Department throughout the rest of the year.
From November through March, mostly nights and weekends and some holidays, the position is responsible for helping to operate and maintain the Stowe Arena. Duties include opening and closing, operating the ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni), cleaning the facility, snow removal and basic maintenance. The Arena Attendant welcomes guests and assists with skate rentals and sharpening.
From April through October, the position is part of the Parks Department team and performs all aspects of groundskeeping, landscaping, and maintenance for the renowned Stowe Recreation Path and athletic and events fields, as well as cemetery burials. Weekdays with some weekend work required for emergencies and cemetery burials.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in landscaping and grounds keeping, skills in equipment maintenance and operation, cleaning, operating a Zamboni, a friendly can-do attitude, and must have a valid driver’s license. Zamboni experience preferred but willing to train the right person.
Pay range: $21.92 to $23.73 based on experience and may be $22.36 to $24.20 following a successful probationary period.
