Groundskeeper

Killington, Vermont's largest hospitality management company—the Karr Group—is seeking hard-working and reliable candidates to join our groundskeeping team!

The groundskeeper is responsible for the care and maintenance of each property within the group to ensure facilities are tidy and functional in order to create an inviting environment for our guests.

As part of the groundskeeping team, you will perform landscaping and property maintenance tasks, and prepare grounds for seasonal changes. Duties include mowing, trimming, leaf removal, and snow and ice removal. You will ensure that all properties are cared for according to company standards. You are a skilled multitasker, efficient, and reliable, with excellent problem solving and time management skills.

This is an outdoor position and you should enjoy working outside in a variety of conditions and temperatures. You must possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.

Our ideal candidate has previous groundskeeping experience. Experience with a zero-turn mower is a plus! A valid driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company policy is required!

Responsibilities:

• Perform tasks such as planting, mowing, weeding, fertilizing, sweeping, raking, salting, shoveling snow, and removing ice
• Operate various types of equipment including power mowers, saws, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, sprayers
• Prepare outdoor areas for various weather conditions
• Keep grounds free from trash, litter, and debris, and empty trash receptacles
• Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on lawn equipment and tools
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager

To be successful in this role, you should:

• Have the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Have the ability to operate a variety of equipment and tools
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Possess manual dexterity and physical stamina
• Enjoy working outside in all weather conditions and temperatures
• Maintain a level of productivity and quality in accordance with business needs and expectations set by management.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company policy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
