What You’ll Do
The Public Works Business Manager operates from a private office in the Public Works suite at Town Hall. Standard work hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM; and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with additional hours as needed. The position includes the option of a monthly cell phone stipend or a Town-issued mobile device.

What You’ll Do
- Direct the five core functions of the division: Customer Service, Utility Billing, Financials (AP/Payroll), Permitting, and Solid Waste & Recycling.
- Oversee hiring, training, and performance management for division personnel while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous process improvement.
- Oversee budget development, enterprise fund accounting, bank statement reconciliations, and billing for water, sewer, stormwater, and solid waste utilities.
- Present financial reports and budgets to official boards and committees, manage solid waste vendor relations, and resolve challenging resident inquiries.
- Work with Town Leadership to maintain billing platforms, streamline workflows, and implement new technology solutions.
- A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years experience and knowledge in business management, personnel management, or municipal accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Strong Leadership experience and the ability to delegate work appropriately and effectively coach employees.
- Experience in sourcing, pricing, and purchasing goods and services preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of municipal government operations
