Accountability: Reports directly to and is accountable to the Town Clerk and Tax Collector.

What You'll Do:

- Receive questions from the public regarding automobile registrations, licensing, dog licenses, landfill permits, and property taxes and provides accurate and correct information when answering.
- Perform routine clerical duties including updating automobile registrations, licensing dogs, processing permits, water and sewer bills, property taxes, landfill permits and other miscellaneous general collections.
- Knowledge of state laws regarding the above, prepares all necessary documents accurately and takes care to have all necessary attachments.
- Interface with other town departments by providing and receiving necessary information to complete assignments.
- Also interface with external organizations, such as the Title Bureau, the State Registry of Motor Vehicles, the Department of Safety, and automobile dealerships.
- Provide information to banks, mortgage companies, attorney's offices, real estate brokers, etc.
- Perform routine clerical duties including filing.
Collections Clerk - Job Description
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of one year's experience in a position which included considerable public contact and routine clerical duties.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- In person, regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.
