What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUMMER - Youth Sports Camp Instructor position at Town of Normal?
Join our Youth Sports staff this summer! This program is perfect for aspiring Physical Education teachers as well as people that just enjoy being outdoors and playing games with children.
This position will be responsible for instructing youth in a PE-style program that meets each Monday - Thursdays morning for 3 hours each. Coaches will teach/supervise team-based games (kickball, disc golf, ultimate frisbee, etc.), fitness activities, and more from early June to late July for youth Ages 3-11. The Camp is broken up into 3 sections as seen below:
Pee Wee Sports Camp (ages 3-5) - Mon-Thurs 9a-10a
Normal Parks Sports Stars (ages 6-8) - Mon / Wed 10a-12pm
All-Star Sports Camp (ages 9-11) - Tues / Thurs 10a-12pm

Staff guaranteed - 10-20 Hours Weekly
-Assist in developing a lesson plan for the program
-Instructing larger groups of children (Groups of 15-30)
-Teaching youth the basics of each recreational games played
-Enforcing program rules
-Care of supplies and equipment
-Must have basic knowledge of sports, recreational games and fitness activities
-Must be able to demonstrate proper techniques to participants
-Must enjoy working with young children
-Must be outgoing and able to lead
Preferred age is 18 years and older. Exceptions can be made for applicants with prior coaching and/or playing experience.
Salary : $15 - $16
