Full-Time Junior I (Afternoon/Floater) Custodian
The Town of Natick’s Facilities Department is seeking a hard-working, ambitious, and team-oriented candidate to fill a full-time Custodian position. This is a floating position providing custodial services in various Town buildings. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM, and Saturday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM.
Duties & Responsibilities
Starting hourly rate is $22.3866/hr. (step 1). The full pay scale range is from $22.3866 -$27.4342 per hour, with step increase outlined in the Maintenance and Facilities Local 1116 union agreement.
Position will remain open until filled.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for all custodial and building operations in assigned buildings, including scheduled and emergency cleaning and support for events.
- Perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, washing, waxing, carpet cleaning, dusting, polishing, and window cleaning. Trash removal and recycling (where applicable).
- Mandatory snow removal during and outside of scheduled work hours.
- Perform exterior grounds maintenance, including mowing, as needed.
- Use a computer for email, required trainings, and other work-related tasks.
- Substitute for Junior II or Senior Custodians as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb stairs (up to three stories).
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb and work safely on ladders.
- Ability to work with commonly used cleaning products.
- Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with all building occupants.
- Knowledge of industrial and office cleaning equipment, materials, and procedures, including the ability to operate commonly used power cleaning equipment.
- Commitment to safe practices and proper use of safety devices and protective equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
