The Town of Milford is seeking a dependable and skilled Wastewater Treatment Operator to support the operation and maintenance of the Town’s wastewater treatment facilities and collection systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment plant processes and pump stations
- Collect samples and perform laboratory testing
- Monitor equipment, gauges, SCADA systems, and maintain accurate logs
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical and control systems
- Operate biosolids dewatering equipment
- Identify and respond to safety hazards and emergency situations
- Assist with training of other operators
- Perform facility and grounds maintenance as needed
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Dependable, safety‑focused, and team‑oriented
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of wastewater treatment or related experience (or equivalent combination)
- NH Grade II Wastewater Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, vehicles, and equipment
- Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating on‑call shifts
- Must be available for nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating on‑call duty
- Ability to meet physical demands and work indoors and outdoors in all conditions
