What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Treatment Laborer position at TOWN OF MILFORD, NH?
The Town of Milford, NH Water Utilities Department is seeking motivated and dependable individuals to fill temporary seasonal laborer positions. These positions support the maintenance, operation, and appearance of municipal water system facilities and infrastructure during the summer season.
This is a temporary seasonal position and is not eligible for benefits under municipal or state employment policies
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine painting and maintenance of municipal water facilities, equipment, and structures
- Conduct grounds maintenance, including weed trimming (weed whacking) and general site cleanup
- Assist department staff with disconnecting water services/sources and other field operations under supervision
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
- Follow established safety practices, policies, and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Provide general labor support for departmental projects and perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience
- Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry materials (up to approximately 50 pounds)
- Basic familiarity with hand tools and outdoor equipment preferred
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age or older preferred
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to meet physical demands and work indoors and outdoors in all conditions
