Job description:
Medfield Public Schools is seeking (2) General Food Service Workers and multiple Substitute Food Service Workers.
- Middle School- General Service Worker
10:00am - 1:00pm - 3 Hours/day
Total Hrs/Week: 15
- Wheelock School- General Food Service Worker
11:00am- 1:00pm - 2 hours/day
Total Hours/Week: 10
These are 10 month positions; 5 days per week during the school year
Positions report to the Food Service Director
Rate: $16.23 -$18.80 Hourly - Per Salary Step Schedule
- Substitute Food Service Workers:
Hours vary between 8:00am - 1:30pm (scheduled as needed)
Starting Substitute Rate is $16/hr.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to accurately weigh, measure and use basic math skills
- Ability to follow instructions & take initiative in performance of assigned tasks
- Physical ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Food service experience is preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Complete tasks that are assigned by the cafeteria manager.
- Serve food to students and staff.
- Prepare food per recipe.
- Appropriately clean all cooking utensils, kitchen equipment and kitchen area.
- Effectively use equipment to prepare food as directed.
- Performs all tasks in accordance with guidelines.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reports to work at scheduled time with proper uniform.
- Adheres to all school district rules & building rules & regulations.
- Utilizes proper hand washing techniques.
- Participates in meetings, training sessions as scheduled.
