What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Town of Gray?
The Town of Gray is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to join our Facilities & Parks team as a full-time Custodian. This position plays a key role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming Town buildings and outdoor facilities, helping ensure they reflect pride in our community.
What You’ll Do
- Perform general cleaning of Town buildings, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of exterior areas around Town facilities
- Complete seasonal floor maintenance and assist with facility upkeep projects
- Follow established custodial and building maintenance practices and procedures
- Work independently to complete assigned tasks and respond to facility needs as they arise
- Assist with additional maintenance or operational tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- At least two (2) years of custodial or related experience preferred
- Valid Maine driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and follow directions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting, standing, walking, and working in various environment
