Pen Bay Maintenance is seeking a dependable and hardworking Custodian to help maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of our residential properties. As a Custodian, you'll play an important role in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments for our residents while supporting the property management and maintenance teams in the day-to-day operation of our communities.

What You'll Do

• Maintain the cleanliness of common areas, buildings, and grounds.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, scrub, and sanitize interior spaces.
• Walk the property regularly to remove litter, debris, and pet waste.
• Perform trash removal and keep dumpster areas clean and organized.
• Complete "trash-out" duties for vacant apartment homes.
• Assist with apartment make-ready projects and light maintenance tasks.
• Maintain landscaping by mowing, trimming, raking, sweeping, and shoveling as needed.
• Replace light bulbs and perform routine property inspections.
• Deliver notices and other communications to residents.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and resident-related issues to management.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Previous custodial, janitorial, groundskeeping, maintenance, or related experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated.
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and lawn care tools.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining attractive communities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, squat, stand, and climb throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely work from ladders.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
