Administrative Assistant
TOWN OF GOSHEN, MA
The Town of Goshen is seeking qualified applicants for a temporary/part-time administrative position in the Select Board/Town Administrator Office. This part-time position of 19.5 hours per week is responsible for assisting the Select Board and Town Administrative team with the processing payables, communicating with vendors, residents and the public, preparing materials for meetings, and other administrative duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day administrative support to the Select Board and Town Administration team
- Prepare bill payments for processing and work with financial team to prepare payables for Accountant
- Keep regular office hours as designated for residents and the public
- Support record keeping, filing and email communications for the Select Board office
- Coordinate with other town departments and boards as required
- Assist with responding to public inquiries as needed
- Respond to requests for facilities use and keep records of keys, user agreements and fees
- Other administrative responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience working in a municipal government office environment preferred
- Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills
- Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, basic office experience, computer literacy (Excel, Word, Acrobat, etc.)
Work Environment/Compensation
This is an in-person position involving office work. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. may be required. Starting hourly wage range is $22.00 - $27.00/hr commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a part-time, temporary unbenefited position with an approximate timeframe of April – October 2026.
